Since January, 2025, the Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command has organized its navy and air force troops to continuously strengthen patrols in waters and airspace surrounding the territorial waters of Huangyan Dao, and further strengthen the control over relevant waters and airspace.
According to the statement, these moves aim to resolutely safeguard China's national sovereignty and security, and maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea.
