Chinese troops participating in China-Laos "Peace Train" joint humanitarian medical rescue exercise arrive at Vientiane Station via the China-Laos Railway on November 14, 2024.
VIENTIANE, Laos, Nov. 18 -- The China-Laos "Peace Train-2024" joint humanitarian medical rescue exercise kicked off in Vientiane, capital city of Laos, on the morning of November 16. Representatives of the Chinese and Lao militaries and participating troops from both sides attended the opening ceremony.
Being held against the background of international humanitarian medical rescue for earthquake disasters, the exercise consists of three phases including mixed joint training, full-process joint training and field drill, involving nearly 700 troops from both sides and multiple kinds of equipment including medical trains, field ambulances, field operating vehicles, rescue helicopters.
During the exercise, the two sides will jointly carry out training on professional rescue courses including epidemic prevention and health protection, treatment of critically wounded, and specialized surgical treatment. They will also organize exchange activities such as visits and artistic performances.
The exercise will last until late November.
