BEIJING, June 25 -- Heavy rainfall has hit southern China in recent days, triggering floods and geological disasters in many places that threaten the safety of people's lives and property. The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Hunan Provincial Military Command, Hubei Provincial Military Command, and the Chinese People's Armed Police (PAP) Force Hubei Corps promptly dispatched troops and militias to carry out rescue operations.

Wuqiangxi Town of Yuanling County in Hunan Province was battered by extremely heavy rainfall from June 21 to 22, which triggered mountain torrents and serious waterlogging. More than 150 troops and militiamen rushed to the disaster area in batches with assault boats, kayaks and other equipment for rescue operations.
6月21日至22日，湖南省沅陵县普降大暴雨、局地特大暴雨，其中五强溪镇出现极端强降雨，引发山洪，部分区域发生严重内涝。150余名官兵、民兵，携带冲锋舟、皮划艇等装备赶赴灾区展开救援。
Many places in Yongzhou City of Hunan Province suffered from waterlogging due to heavy rainfall. The Yongzhou Military Sub-command prepared 48,800 woven bags, 1,450 life jackets, and 55 water pumps to assist in flood prevention and disaster relief work.
受强降雨影响，湖南省永州市多地发生内涝。永州军分区备齐编织袋4.88万条、救生衣1450件、水泵机55台，协助做好防汛救灾工作。
Lashed by the continuous heavy rainfall, Huangshi City, Yichang City, Jingzhou City and other places in Hubei Province were affected to varying degrees. The Hubei Provincial Military Command dispatched more than 300 troops and militiamen to participate in disaster relief missions. They have evacuated more than 300 people, built more than 200 meters of sub-dikes, and reinforced more than 1,000 meters of dams along the river.
受持续强降雨影响，湖北省黄石市、宜昌市、荆州市等地不同程度受灾。湖北省军区出动官兵、民兵300余人投入抢险救灾，累计转移群众300余人，构筑子堤200余米，加固沿河坝体1000余米。
