DALIAN, China, June 18 -- The Chinese naval 83rd task unit returned to a port in Dalian City of northeast China's Liaoning Province on June 17 after successfully completing its ocean-going cadet training mission and visits to Cambodia and Timor-Leste.
大连6月18日电 6月17日，海军83舰编队圆满完成远海实习和访问柬埔寨、东帝汶任务，返回大连某港。
Taking more than 1,200 sailors from the PLA Dalian Naval Academy and Naval Submarine Academy onboard, the 83rd task unit set sail on May 10. Since then, it covered a voyage of over 9,500 nautical miles, transiting more than ten sea areas including the Yellow Sea, East China Sea, South China Sea, Gulf of Thailand and Indonesian Archipelago, and passing through multiple important straits.
自5月10日起航以来，海军83舰编队搭载海军大连舰艇学院、海军潜艇学院的1200余名官兵航经黄海、东海、南海、泰国湾、印尼群岛水域等10余个海区、穿越多个重要海峡，总航程9500余海里。
During the mission, cadets assigned to the 83rd task unit completed 29 sailing days of education and training tasks, encompassing professional education and training subjects such as ship training organization, comprehensive application, specialized training organization and departmental service.
任务期间，海军83舰编队组织参训学员顺利完成29个航行日的教学训练任务，先后开展舰艇组训、综合应用、专业组训、部门勤务等专业教学训练。
During the visits, the unit members led by the commanding officer called on the senior political and military leaders of the visited countries. They also visited the military facilities, academies and civilian institutions and installations of the visited countries, and carried out discussions and exchanges, friendly sports games and other activities with the military cadets of these countries. In addition, the task unit held two deck receptions and several ship open-day activities, which attracted more than 3,000 visitors onboard.
访问期间，编队指挥员一行先后拜会到访国军政高层领导。出访官兵参观了外军军事设施、院校及地方机构设施，与到访国军队院校学员深入开展座谈交流、友谊比赛等活动。编队还先后组织2场甲板招待会、多场舰艇开放活动，累计3000余人次登舰参观。
The mission enhanced the comprehensive capabilities of the participating cadets, demonstrated the good image of Chinese naval cadets and deepened the friendship and mutual trust with the people and militaries of the visited countries.
此次任务，强化了参训学员的综合能力，展示了中国海军院校学员的良好形象，深化了与到访国人民和军队之间的友谊互信。
